You know those pictures from the Aspen Grove that were stuck on my broken camera? Well, the camera is still broken, but I was able to get the pictures off of it. Here is a picture of us, just moments before Jonathan asked me to marry him. I'm so unsuspecting!

Strange.

There's a new Tolkien Chatter on Bubbs, and it's not mine to post in. It's like visiting an old house that was yours for ages and ages (four years) to find someone else living in it. Even if they hadn't changed anything, you would feel awkward.

My local circuit of blogs has quieted down considerably. Perhaps we are all fatigued.

Update on life:

Life is continuing. Libby is in Oregon today, and will be for awhile. I miss her very much.

I am working long days trying to serve as many people as I can as effectively as I can. God grant me strength!

I have found a place to live. It is a stuidio apartment in La Habra. One day, both Libby and I will live there. It's further from Biola, but closer to Church. I'm going to go pick up my key and pay the first month's rent this Monday. I'll then begin moving in my stuff, so that I can start cleaning this house! I might pack up some books tomorrow, we'll see.

A note:

I don't intend to post about work on this blog, because I see the concerns of my job as the business of Biola, those specific students I'm serving, and my department, not the public at large.

A thought:

*yawn*

Everyone should say a quick prayer for Jonathan when they read this. He's very stressed out right now with more work than there is time to do it, and trying to move into a new apartment on top of that.

Did you know that summer doesn't last forever?

Today I saw a Western Tanager flying through Biola's campus. Western Tanagers are never resident in Southern California. They merely swing through on their way North or South. Last time I saw one at Biola was in May.

Yesterday Libby and I were at Bolsa Chica, but all the birds there are still summer birds. There are still wheeling flocks of terns around Tern Island. The only ducks are mallards. So, it's still summer, but now I know it won't last forever. The tanagers are headed home.

See this couple? They're getting married in 100 days! :-)
