Here's an article from Christianity Today about the morality of Wal-Mart. This is an issue that has touched me, as I have heard the arguments against Wal-Mart. For awhile I have been reluctant to shop there. This fellow sort of lays out the debate.

Deliver Us From Wal-Mart?

The most serious issue in my mind is the allegation of sweatshop work; especially since they are said to use children. It sounds like Wal-Mart needs to work on that more, and that the problem has been pretty consistent. I would agree with the author that independent inspectors, such as those used by Nike, would be an excellent move on their part. It sounds good that the Methodist Church has invested in Wal-Mart. It's given them a more powerful say in the reforming of their poor business policies.
