Thanks for your prayers: the job search is ended, and it wasn't even that painful. It actually all happened really quickly. My application for Calvary Christian School in Santa Ana went out in the mail on Monday, they reviewed it on Tuesday, interviewed me on Wednesday, and had me come teach a lesson on Thursday (today) so that they could observe me. And then they offered me the job! So, come September, I'll be teaching 5th grade!
