Happy Feast of the Ascension!

Today is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, where we celebrate the fact that Jesus is ascended to the right hand of the Father in glory. It's a day to recognize the victory of Christ over the powers of this world, and it is good to remember that we are the inheritors of that victory.

A fitting prayer:

Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God,
that like as we do believe thy only-begotten Son
our Lord Jesus Christ
to have ascended into the heavens;
so we may also in heart and mind thither ascend,
and with him continually dwell,
who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost,
one God, world without end. Amen.

-'28 BCP Collect

On a personal note, the Lenten season passes much more slowly than the Easter season. Even recognizing it's shorter by, what, six days?, this 40 day period has galloped by.
