I just wanted to point out that pictures from our time in Mammoth with the Mootharts are up on Flickr. The trip over-all appeared to be a big success. We celebrated Dad, Phillip and Josiah's birthdays. There was good family time had by all, and people liked the cabin. Libby really enjoyed showing the cabin to her family, which warms my heart. This is an incredibly special place.
Some of the pictures are of our hike along Rock Creek with the family. That was fun. It was exhilarating to be out and about at high elevation in the early Fall - especially given the perfect weather we enjoyed. Last weekend it snowed, so that time of year really is a crap shoot (this is the same weekend Dad and I got snowed on a couple of years ago).
The only real drawback to the weekend was its incredibly short duration! Everybody left on Sunday morning to get home before it was too late, and Libby and I followed shortly after helping to stow food and water for the winter, gather kindling for winter fires, and put up the A-frame.

Beautiful photographs. Some of my memories go back to that same place a long time ago.
