A few things we've learned about Hannah at two weeks:
First, a second baby will be inevitably compared to a first baby. Can't help that.
Second, she sleeps better than Andrew. Now, every night is different, and she has had some poor nights (no complaints), but her best nights are better than Andrew's were for many months. That's no exaggeration.
Third, she spits up a lot. She seems to have more stomach problems than Andrew did. Poops much less frequently so far, too. I think she probably spends more of her waking hours fussing than Andrew did, but that's hard to know. She does seem to soothe a bit more easily.
Fourth, it turns out girls can project pee pretty far. Wasn't prepared for that like I was with Andrew, and she's already gotten me pretty good twice.
Fifth, Andrew's infancy was so traumatic that the early days were pretty rough as they brought back a lot of unpleasant memories. Poor little girl, that's not her fault.
Finally, bonding is a bit tough with a new baby when you don't see her very often. Andrew still demands so much attention that I don't see her very often. I know it will come in time. I'm particularly looking forward to her starting to smile and interact with us, and all the other fun baby things in our future.
