It's raining outside... really really hard.

I had always interpreted "sheets of rain" as describing vertical patterns of rainfall, but tonight it's giant drops coming down in horizontal sheets, that make the ground dance with deflected rain a foot in the air. Freak shower, but one that I appreciated very much.
