Director: Frank Lloyd
Yet another early Best Picture winner, Mutiny on the Bounty excels in its even-handed treatment of its characters in a morally complex environment. I'm impressed that it eschews easy moral condemnation on either hand of such a heated situation.
Of course, it's not historically accurate, but the movie gives both Gable and Laughton full doses of humanity.
Anyway, it's fun. It's more a drama than a swashbuckler, but Gable (sans mustache!) is very dashing.
