I wish that the Catholic Church would stick to their guns. Kerry is a joke Catholic. He strikes me much more as a wishy-washy ritual "this makes me feel good and gets me votes so I'll continue to do it" kind of person.

If you are a Catholic, you should follow the dogma of your church. And the dogma of the Catholic Church states that politicians can't oppose Church doctrine. Kerry does this! He's apostated himself, alienated himself from the keys. Be consistent, Church, deny him the sacrament. Pray for his soul, that he comes back into the fold. You've excommunicated far better men than Kerry.

One of the things that makes the Roman Catholic Church what it is is its emphasis on heirarchy and submission. This is an asset, and I find it attractive. But the way they use it is so messed up that it pains my soul. I guess it bothers me in general when I see a high and lofty ideal that would be wonderful stepped on and spat on. If you really thought the Pope was the Vicar of Christ on earth, wouldn't you give him a little more respect than Kerry gives him?
