West Nile is going to hit Southern California hardest this summer! Although they specify the Imperial Valley as a probable epicenter, I wouldn't be surprised if someone in my family caught it, since my Dad's garden often has small stagnant pools that lay undiscovered for weeks. Oh well. I wonder if the mosquitoes in the Sierras will carry the virus. If not, I should just spend the whole summer there.

I have asthma right now. Holy cow, it came on fast and hard. I could hardly breathe. Scary, I have never experienced anything like it. I think the reason I like thin air is that I can get it to the very bottom of my lungs easily. Whereas the air down here is suffocatingly thick. Because of my asthma I'm considering skipping class. I just don't like to have other people see me struggling to breathe. It's uncomfortable... probably because of my masculine pride. "I'm stronger than this... *wheeze*"
