Last night I didn't go to bed until after 3:00 am because of a long discussion with two of my roommates about information ethics. The joys of living with computer science majors! All the same it's good to have long discussions like that. I think it's a healthy part of our community. And one we're all too busy for, generally.

I think an interesting book that relates to the ethics of spreading information is The Silmarrillion. I guess Phil's writing his myth paper on The Silmarrillion now, which should be interesting. I wish I had a paper to write about Tolkien.

It occurs to me, though, that if you had a really good idea you shouldn't post it on your blog, because someone else might take it.
